The Nest

At Wath Central, we understand that sometimes children need additional support to allow them to access their learning within a classroom. As a result, we have created our own bespoke space for this learning to take place.

The Nest, opening in September 2023, is a new Student Support Service being offered by the team at Wath Central to support both children's learning needs and their social, emotional and well-being needs. Pupils are referred for support sessions via, the Nest by their class teachers, following discussions with parents and carers. Our School SENDCO will be overseeing the Nest provision along with a team of experienced Learning Mentors, Teaching Assistants, an ELSA and our Mental Health Champion.

Children accessing support via. the Nest will be accessing their learning at various levels ranging from Pre-Formal, to Semi-Formal and Formal as a result within the Nest classroom we have a number of dedicated spaces. We have an area with the usual classroom desks and chairs, a comfortable seating area for small group or 1:1 work and also a free-flow provision space where children be supported on working towards their EHC targets whilst exploring hands-on learning both indoors and outdoors.
